Pinnacle Health Group takes a very consultative approach to solving our customer's problems. This is so the recruiter can fit each opportunity with the right candidate rather than throwing candidates into opportunities with the hope they will work out. Each sourcing campaign is for that individual client and that client only-targeting their 'unique' candidate parameters, rather than a blind advertisement that gets any candidate from anywhere.
Here are just a few of our success stories, demonstrating how we solve customer's problems with efficiency and effectiveness.
On Filling a Very Particular Need
One of the top dermatology groups in the country needed a general dermatologist to join their group. All ex-military doctors, they were looking for someone who was not necessarily military, but would fit in with the group. They wanted someone with the same type of approach to life and career, a driven performer who would work as a team player and not expect to come in at 8 AM and leave at 5 PM every day. Our recruiter inherited the opportunity and filled it within 60 days. "The community where this opportunity was located is a wonderful cultural center in the south. Excellent schools, arts, symphony orchestra, about 90,000 people-they had everything a large metro area would offer in the way of culture, including being on one of the top lecture circuits in the nation, in spite of their smaller size. There would be no problem recruiting a dermatologist to this area, town, or practice, the challenge would be finding a perfect fit; ideally, a dermatologist with a military medical background."
Our recruiter began networking and checking contacts. He located a dermatologist who had a military medical background, was looking for a new opportunity, and actually knew the doctors who were hiring. "This dermatologist was running a very successful practice, but he was tired of the administrative hassles, and wanted a change. This was a perfect opportunity for him. He was looking for something exceptional and this was it. The client was thrilled and the candidate signed the contract. It was a perfect fit for everyone involved. The client and candidate are very happy with the results."
On Not Giving Up
A Pinnacle Health Group recruiter recalls a placement that had been originally handled by one of Pinnacle's competitors. "The facility was looking for a dedicated and stable OB-GYN in a relatively short period of time. We put into action all of our resources and came up with two female OB-GYN's that met all of the requirements of the client-and in less than 60 days! The client was so pleased with the two OB-GYN's presented, that they hired both!"
The recruiter describes another group, in turmoil over looking for four physicians. "There had to be a lot of turnover for this group, and they needed four cardiologists right away." Most recruiting firms would not take a search unless it was a sure thing, but not Pinnacle Health Group. Fortunately, the recruiter's personal motto is "don't give up." We placed the four cardiologists and now the client is one of our most glowing references!
On Looking Out for the Customer's Best Interest
Another PHG recruiter has not only helped group practices and hospitals with finding physicians, but he has also helped physicians to find new opportunities. "I had a client-a 63-year old family practice physician-who had practiced medicine for 24 years until, one day, managed care came along and destroyed his practice. From 1995 to 1998, not able to find a permanent position, he was forced to do Locums. When he came to Pinnacle Health Group, we placed him in a permanent position in his hometown within three months." This is just another example of how Pinnacle Health Group serves the community and looks out for their clients' best interests. "A Southeastern client searched for a physician that met their qualifications for two years on their own. Finally, the practice realized that they needed some assistance. Pinnacle came in and implemented profiles, referencing, credentialing, etc. Within 30 days, the family practice position was filled.
The practice was so thrilled that they have guaranteed PHG the next search for the upcoming year."
Our Recruiters are Tenacious!
Pinnacle Health Group prides itself on being completely honest with all of our clients. We have informed clients up front that some searches may take a little more time to place. "One search in particular," recalls a PHG recruiter, "was a search for an orthopedic spine surgeon. This particular specialty has only 200 physicians in the country. I used a direct mail piece and was able to get physicians to call regarding the opportunity, although they were not actively seeking a new position at the time. We were able to fill the position in a timely manner." "It is this type of tenacity that goes beyond all other competitors," says the client.
Making the Perfect Match at the 12th Hour
Another part of the recruiters job at Pinnacle Health Group are placements for the physician who is looking to relocate. Rob Rector, one of PHG's top recruiters, recalls a perfect match between the group and the physician. "We had a physician contact us from one of our direct mail pieces. He had been trying, without success for some time, to relocate to the Southeast and felt this was an excellent opportunity. This community was a great place to raise children and had a family-oriented neighborhood. Pinnacle sent the physician to the community for an interview with the group. The physician was so well liked that the group did not have a need to see any other candidates." Making a match that fits like a glove is what Pinnacle Health Group does best!
Pinnacle Health Group is equipped to handle any situation. Rob recounts, "On one occasion, a placement of a general surgeon fell through. The general surgeon owned his own surgery center and was in the process of selling the facility when he approached us regarding an opportunity we had available in the Southeast. The placement was made with this physician and the general surgeon was due to move to the new town in six months from the date of being placed. Instead of moving, he called and said that he would be unavailable to move because the deal with selling his surgery center did not go through, which meant that he would need to stay in his original town." Pinnacle did not panic, and due to quick thinking, we were able to find another general surgeon in one month. We still have a long-standing relationship with this group.
Understanding Individuals' Needs
A major healthcare facility in the Southeast placed five searches with PHG. One of the searches was for a general surgeon. Pinnacle's recruiter placed a physician in this position but there were problems with the physician's licensing, and the candidate backed out of the process. Pinnacle's recruiter had already said "no thank you" to another candidate who had accepted a position in South Carolina since then and was in the process of buying a house and moving from Philadelphia.
Pinnacle's recruiter contacted the candidate and talked to him about the opportunity. The physician had already put a down payment on a new house in South Carolina and was on his second trip from Philadelphia to get set up for his new job. "He was actually en route to South Carolina when I called him," said Pinnacle's recruiter. "We were talking on the cell phone. He really wanted the opportunity I was representing, and he had no hard feelings that he wasn't the first candidate chosen."
The candidate decided to take Pinnacle's opportunity. He cancelled his new house purchase and instead, started making plans for his new position. The client was very impressed with Pinnacle's aggressiveness in procuring this physician, and the physician was impressed that the recruiter knew what the physician really wanted and didn't hesitate to contact him.
