The Need:
A 167-bed, full-service healthcare facility in Florida was seeking an orthopedic surgeon to partner with another surgeon. In addition to the tightly competitive candidate marketplace for this particular specialty, there were also very specific parameters the client put in place. The candidate needed to be board certified, Sports Orthopedics fellowship-trained, and willing to work only eight months out of the year. The healthcare organization partnered with Pinnacle Health Group (PHG) in recruiting for this new position.
The Action:
To ensure that the match was the right fit, Pinnacle Health Group met with the orthopedic surgeon to assess exactly what he needed from a partner and designed a marketing campaign to meet his requirements. A recruiter also made an in-person site visit to perform a community profile. Taking the information obtained during the profile, PHG implemented a unique sourcing campaign to obtain a pool of qualified candidates.
PHG received excellent responses through email blasts, magazines, and print advertisements. PHG regularly communicated with the facility’s CEO and the orthopedic surgeon for updates on the search process.
The Result:
PHG presented a physician who was greatly interested in the practice opportunity because of its flexible schedule and the community’s great outdoor recreation and scuba diving. The orthopedic surgeon and the CEO were impressed with his credentials and pleased that he was trained in sports orthopedics. After just one interview, contract negotiations proceeded and the facility hired the new physician. With a comprehensive sourcing strategy and attention to detail, Pinnacle Health Group once again exceeded the client’s and physician’s expectations!
