Pinnacle was proud to support the OLA Edge Mission Camp. At the beginning of the week, the teens worked hard to take care of the parish home and clean the church. From dusting pews to mopping floors and even scraping gum from underneath the pews, everyone pitched in to make a difference. Later the group also took a church tour to learn more about their faith and spent time praying with Jesus. In addition Mike Broxterman shared his experience with CHOA, and later the kids made cards and packed care packages with crayons and coloring books to be distributed later in the week.
In the middle of the week the kids visited the elderly at Belmont Village assisted living. The teens helped with daily routines, led exercises, and played games like trivia and Uno. It was such a blessing to see the joy the teens brought to the faces of the residents, many of whom had been teachers of middle and high school kids. Lunch at The Varsity was a fun break before heading to CHOA-Eggleston to drop off care bags for kids receiving treatment.
Wrapping up the week, the group visited the Elaine Clark Center in Chamblee to serve more kids before heading to Blackburn Park to pick up trash. It was a fulfilling week of service, learning, and making a positive impact on others’ lives.
