The Need:
A non-profit community hospital was looking to add a hospitalist to its growing team. The hospitalist group is part of a physician-led, multi-specialty facility that has recently expanded to address the increased demand for patient care. The healthcare facility offers a full spectrum of services and provides healthcare for counties in West Virginia and Ohio.
Although the candidate parameters were flexible, recruiting hospitalists is challenging due to the limited supply of physicians in this specialty and the increased demand. This translates to increased vacancies in hospitalist practices, and a very tight and competitive marketplace for facilities looking to employ hospitalists.
The Action:
Pinnacle Health Group was ready to tackle the challenge of finding a physician for the facility! To fill the need, we worked quickly with hospital administrators in implementing a recruitment campaign. Our recruiters visited the facility to assess what approach would work best. Pinnacle implemented a full sourcing campaign that included use of direct mail, email, social media, and job boards. We received many quality leads, with internet job boards proving to be the most effective approach.
The Result:
Pinnacle Health Group successfully found a bilingual, board-certified hospitalist who was interested in the position. Three major factors for the physician choosing this opportunity included his geographic proximity to the facility, the flexible work schedule and competitive compensation. The hospitalist is a triathlete and was drawn to the community because it features a beautiful landscape and scenic background, providing him with an abundance of outdoor recreation.
Hospital administrators were impressed with the physician’s credentials and decided to employ him after the first interview. Pinnacle’s placement timeline was three and a half months. With great communication and an outstanding collaborative effort, Pinnacle has once again exceeded both client and physician expectations!
