THE NEED:
A pediatric medical center in Tennessee needed a Medical Director for their exclusive Pediatric Sleep Center who could manage the center as well as promote to the communities it serves. The challenge was to find a qualified candidate from the small number of pediatricians who are board certified and fellowship-trained in both pediatrics and sleep medicine.
THE ACTION:
Pinnacle Health Group (PHG) worked quickly to create a customized recruitment campaign with the input of the facility’s administrators. Since pediatrics remain one of the most difficult specialties to recruit today, it was imperative that the sourcing campaign be creative and unique. Key to the creation of the strong sourcing campaign was the community profile, along with the creation of a comprehensive sourcing plan designed to acquire a large yet quality pool of candidates.
PHG initiated a direct mail campaign and email blasts, and promoted the practice opportunity to print and online job distribution channels, niche venues and specialty-specific publications. PHG received excellent responses from physicians stimulated by the various sourcing methods, with email blasts and direct mail being the most effective.
THE RESULTS:
PHG presented a physician who was interested in the position because of the growth and leadership opportunities that the practice offers. He was also impressed by the administration and the other physicians in the hospital. The physician and his spouse loved the community, finding it to have a perfect mix of small town charm and big city cultural opportunities. The candidate was the perfect fit for the client because of his training, clinical expertise, communication skills and personality. After further site visits, assessments and negotiation, the hospital hired the physician.
