Atlanta, GA, August 2012—Rich Gehrke, Pinnacle Health Group’s Executive Vice President of Marketing, spoke about Conrad 30’s importance to physician recruitment at the July 24 MINK MidwestMD 2012 Educational Conference.
As an expert in the industry, Gehrke shed light on what Conrad 30 means to physician recruitment. With the severe physician shortage at hand, Conrad 30 has proved to be an aide in bringing physicians to health care facilities in need.
Conrad 30 is a program that permits international medical graduates a wavier of the two-year home residency requirement of the physician’s J-1 visa. The program allows each state’s Department of Health to sponsor up to 30 physicians every year for J-1 waivers. Conrad 30 was specifically formed to address the issue of physician shortages in rural and urban areas.
Gehrke’s presentation stressed the importance of executives, administrators, and recruiters in leveraging Conrad 30 to fill positions in health care facilities in the areas of Family Practice, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, OB/GYN and Psychiatry. He also discussed qualifications for granting waivers, the waiver process and recruiting a J-1 physician as well as the need for engaging an experienced immigration attorney. Gerke worked with Paula Camino Fini at Paula E. Camino Esq., LLC on the information presented.
